Three Charged With Vehicle Theft, Drugs
Three men were arrested Wednesday for allegedly stealing a car while in possession of several grams of marijuana.
Zackary Adam Davis, no age listed, of Moundsville, Jason Alexander Ruskin, 21, of Moundsville, and Matthew Tyler Martin, 21, of Lakeville, Ohio, were charged with grand larceny and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
According to the criminal report, the West Virginia State Police were made aware of a possible stolen Toyota Tundra traveling south on W.Va. 2 at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police stopped the vehicle at the Woodland Knolls Apartments and identified the driver as Davis.
Police searched the vehicle and found 19 grams of marijuana in the console of the truck and Davis’s backpack, a digital scale and a Subutex pill.
Davis allegedly told police he had purchased the vehicle through an individual and admitted to selling marijuana, claiming he had purchased $180 worth of the substance two days before. Davis also allegedly admitted to using his phone to set up deals, but said he deletes the messages.
In a statement by Davis’s girlfriend, she told police Ruskin and Martin had stolen the vehicle and sold it to Davis for $70.
A preliminary hearing for Ruskin is set for 3:30 p.m. May 27.
A preliminary hearing had not been set for Davis or Martin.
