Barr Arrested For Burglary, Battery
A Moundsville man was arrested last week for allegedly breaking into an apartment on Washington Avenue and punching a woman in the face.
Ryan James Barr, 20, was charged with burglary and battery. Bond was set at $3,500.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Barr, the Moundsville Police Department responded to 214 Washington Ave., after receiving a call from a woman reporting a disturbance. When they arrived, officers found the woman’s left eye was swollen and black.
The woman reported Barr had knocked on her door earlier. She stated she didn’t intend to answer the door, but then heard a pounding like someone was trying to break into the apartment. The woman stated she went down the hallway and saw Barr had broken through the window panel on the door, unlocked the door and was coming into the house.
Barr allegedly asked the alleged victim if she had his television set while the woman tried to close the door on him. Barr then allegedly shoved the woman back into the apartment and punched her in the eye.
A preliminary hearing for Barr is set for 9 a.m. June 19.
