Man Arrested, Held For Alleged Familial Attack
A Glen Dale man is being held at the Northern Regional Jail after allegedly attacking his father during an argument.
Ian Patrick Pettit, 28, of 304 Jefferson Ave., was charged with second-offense domestic assault second offense. Bond was set at $5,000.
According to the criminal complaint filed against Pettit, the Glen Dale Police Department responded to Pettit’s residence at about 8:45 p.m. May 28 to a report of a domestic fight.
Pettit told police he had been arguing with his father because Pettit had been yelling at his girlfriend about a debit card.
Pettit’s father allegedly grabbed Pettit’s arm and tried to calm him down when Pettit swept his father’s legs out from under him.
In a statement to police, an eyewitness reported Pettit had punched his father in the back twice and once in his face.
A pre-trial hearing for Pettit will be held at 11:15 a.m. June 16 in Marshall County Magistrate Court.
