Preparations Underway for All American Days Festival

BELLAIRE – There will be classic cars, professional wrestling, bingo, fireworks and even a performance by Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. this week when Bellaire hosts its eighth annual All-American Days Festival, which takes place Thursday through Saturday in Bellaire Park.

There also will be Zumba and Tae Kwon Do demonstrations on Saturday, as well as crafters, food vendors and carnival rides during the three day festival. This year the rides will be placed on Guernsey Street so that the Classic Car Show can take place along Belmont Street, said Lou Ann Bennett, organizer for the All-American Days Festival.

“This way we can go all through town,” she said. “There will be no stopping us.”

The car show, sponsored by Edens Auto Ranch, usually attracts between 70 to 80 cars, according to Bennett. Registration for the show starts at noon Saturday, with the events slated to take place from 1-5 p.m.

Wristbands good for rides at the festival can be purchased in advance at the Bellaire Mayor’s Office, the Bellaire Area Chamber of Commerce Office, Lil Gerardo’s and Bev’s Boutique and Gifts. Other entertainment offerings are free and provided by the Belmont County Tourism Council.

Events start at 5 p.m. Thursday with opening ceremonies by Post 52 of The American Legion. Robert “Moose” Dodrill takes the stage at 5:30 p.m., followed by Silver Sky at 8 p.m. Dodrill also kicks off events at 5 p.m. Friday, with line dancing by the Just for Fun Line Dancers at 7 p.m., and Streamline performing at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, prior to the start of festival events will be sidewalk sales throughout Bellaire, the Mike McFarland Memorial 5K Race for St. John High School, and the Ohio Valley Farmers Market.

Festival activities begin with prayers and blessings for Bellaire at noon, followed by the 1 p.m. car show.

At 2 p.m., the Kids Fishing Derby and the Kiddie Olympics are scheduled, and at 3 p.m. Seszko International Tae Kwon Do will present a demonstration. Black Diamond professional wrestling events begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by Zumba at 5:30 p.m.

Vinny and the Time Travelers play at 5:30 p.m., and Elvis Aaron Presley Jr. takes the stage at 9 p.m.

The events end at 10:30 p.m. with fireworks from Pyrotechnics by Presutti of Bellaire sponsored by the Bellaire Area Chamber of Commerce.
