Rollover Accident Results in Injures
Two people suffered minor injuries in a rollover accident Thursday at the intersection of W.Va. 2 and Sixth Street, which drew onlookers from surrounding businesses in the middle of the workday.
According to Moundsville Police Chief Tom Mitchell, a driver of a silver Toyota SUV was heading out of Wendy’s onto Sixth Street at about 2:30 p.m. and failed to see an oncoming Cadillac sedan traveling north on W.Va. 2.
The two vehicles crashed, causing the Toyota to turn over onto its roof.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the Moundsville Police Department and the Moundsville City Fire Department responded to the scene.
It took about six crew members to push the heavily damaged SUV upright before it was towed. Damage to the front of the Cadillac could also be seen.
Mitchell said citations for the driver of the Toyota are pending.
The names of the drivers have not been released.
Both drivers suffered minor cuts and bruises, but no one was transported to the hospital, Mitchell said.
