Main Street Bank, Chamber Celebrate
An abundance of sunshine, music and barbecue brightened the spirits of those in the Main Street Bank parking lot Thursday for the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event.
“The main goal of these events is to provide a great networking opportunity to our members,” chamber Executive Director Dave Knuth said. “This one is especially nice because it is outside in great weather.”
Main Street Bank began in 2001 with its headquarters on Main Street in Center Wheeling, but the firm now also features offices in Moundsville, Elm Grove and Wellsburg. The Moundsville branch opened in 2012.
“It is a very popular bank, and we are very glad to have them,” Knuth said.
Main Street Bank President and CEO Rich Lucas recently said the bank earned $2.68 million in 2013, up from $2.24 million the previous year. The bank also increased its dividend payment for 2014 to 40 cents per share, which reflects a 15 percent increase from 2013.
Knuth said the chamber holds similar events throughout the county on a monthly basis, adding the next one is set for 5 p.m. July 24 at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Moundsville.
During the event, officials named Appalachian Outreach Inc. as business of the month.
