Shoplifting

At 8:13 p.m. Tuesday, police investigated a report of a female shoplifter at a National Road business.

At 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, police investigated an alleged shoplifting at the Family Dollar store in South Wheeling.

Items Recovered

At 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, police took a walk-in report at headquarters concerning recovered items from an earlier theft on Springhaven Road.

On Tuesday, police arrested Brent J. Montenery, 28, of 319 Jones Ave., Yorkville, for failure to appear.

BELLAIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Tuesday, police arrested Rebecca A. Moore, 45, of 64641 Patterson Hill Road, Bellaire, for theft, driving under suspension and failure to file for registration. Bond was set at $1,595.

BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

At 10:24 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to Shadyside where a village police cruiser was struck.

At 1:51 a.m. Tuesday, a resident on Lynn Avenue, Belmont, reported an harassment incident.

At 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, deputies went to Benfork Road, Jacobsburg, where a person reported a dog was shot. Deputies talked to several people and the person who shot the dog was identified. The dog was taken to New Horizon and the county animal shelter was notified.

At 7:21 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a Toyota Camry with its doors and hood off was being driven recklessly near Banfield Road in St. Clairsville. According to reports, there were three teenage boys inside the car, which was burgundy in color. The vehicle left in the direction of Bellaire. Responding deputies could not located the vehicle.

On Monday, police took a walk-in report at headquarters concerning a breaking and entering of an auto.

At 9:48 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to 165 Harris Lane, Proctor, to a report of shots fired.

At 12:04 a.m. Monday, deputies responded to 301 Sawmill Lane, Glen Easton, to a report of shots fired.

At 8:18 p.m. Sunday, deputies made an arrest during a domestic violence call at Pottery Terrace Apartments in Cameron. The name of the arrested person was not listed.

At 7:38 p.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to 6532 Fork Ridge Rd., Glen Easton, to a burglary.

At 4:59 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to 31 Maple Ave., Moundsville, to a burglary.

At 8:54 a.m. Sunday, deputies made an arrest at 90 Leggs Lane, Proctor, during a domestic violence call. The name of the arrested person was not listed.

BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

At 10:31 a.m. Monday, a caller on Piedmont-Holloway Road, Flushing Township, reported pipe was stolen from a yard. A deputy responded. The pipe was found on Ramsay Road in Harrison County. The owner has a company truck and will pick up the pipe.

At 5:31 a.m. Monday, a resident on Wegee Road, Shadyside, reported two unruly juveniles. They were taken by their grandmother to Hillcrest.

At 1:44 p.m. Monday, a resident on Union Street, Powhatan Point, reported a domestic situation. The female did not wish to file charges and left for the night.

At 4:53 a.m. Monday, a person at Wal-Mart reported two males tried to open a case was a crowbar. The case contained iPhones.

At 8:23 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to Grays Road, Colerain where there were four-wheelers on the road. Verbal warnings were issued to subjects.

On Monday, Jessica Clark-McDowell, 35, of 4039 Lincoln Ave, Shadyside, was arrested for burglary. Bond of $5,000 was posted.

On Monday, Joshua Taylor, 25, of 3043 Belmont S., Bellaire, was arrested for two counts of contempt.

ST. CLAIRSVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Monday, David J. Lallone, 26, of 101 12th St., Wheeling, was arrested for domestic violence, possession of drugs (marijuana), drug paraphernalia and assault. Bond was set at $1,400.

MARTINS FERRY POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Tuesday, Robert N. Hails, 21, of 430 N. 5th S., Martins Ferry, was arrested for burglary and theft. Bond was set at $17,500. His address at the police station is listed as 515 Ohio St., Martins Ferry.

On Tuesday, Kelly G. Watts, 40, of 1049 Broadway St., Martins Ferry, was arrested for obstructing official business. Bond was set at $750. The address at the police station is listed as 608 Jefferson St., Martins Ferry.

At 8:38 p.m. Sunday, Kmart reported shoplifters. Deputies responded and the subjects took off in a small grey car with Ohio plates. There were two males and two females in the car.

At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported there was a pit bull running loose in the area. Caller was advised to contact animal shelter.

At 1:57 p.m. Sunday, a person at Bel Capre Apartments, Bellaire, reported a suspicious person. A deputy responded but did not locate the suspect..

At 6:34 p.m. Sunday, Wal-Mart reported they were following two shoplifters through the store and when they realized they were being followed, they dropped the items and took off in a SUV with West Virginia plates. A deputy responded.

On Sunday, Dane W. Hall, 28, of 497 W. 44th St., Shadyside, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Sunday, Timothy J. Boskovich Jr., 28, of 55034 Sterling Ave., Bridgeport, was arrested for domestic violence.

OHIO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department reported that a Morgantown man died Thursday night as the result of a vehicle accident on Pogue’s Run Road in Ohio County. Daniel L. Watkins, 24, was driving on the road when he lost control of his vehicle, left the road and struck a tree. He was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, officials said.

A passenger, Scott Allen Cartwright, 34, of Reedsville, W.Va., was taken to a local hospital, treated and released on Friday. Speed is believed to a factor in the crash, officials said.

WHEELING POLICE DEPARTMENT

Arrest

At 8 p.m. Friday, an officer observed Adam Koonce in the parking lot of an Elm Grove club, and knowing there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to pay fines, the officer placed Koonce under arrests. He also was charged with possession with intent to deliver. His age nor address were listed on the report.

At 2:36 p.m. Thursday, a resident on West Captina Highway, Alledonia, said someone stole a dirt bike from residence. A deputy responded for information and a report.

At 11:23 a.m. Thursday, a Bellaire area resident called and said a family member received a threatening phone call from a person the caller identified.

At 10:34 a.m. Thursday, a resident on Woods Road, Bridgeport, reported a threatening incident.

At 9:11 p.m. Wednesday, units responded to an address on Lynn Drive in Fairpoint for a report of an unruly juvenile.

At 6:59 p.m. Wednesday, a resident of National Road, Belmont, reported some cash was stolen from counter of his residence. The complainant said they left to walk the dog between 11:15-11:50 a.m. and came back to find $450 missing. The door to the residence was reportedly unlocked.

At 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, a person on Mt. Victory Road, Powhatan Point, reported he was thrown out of a house and did not know the address and had no idea where he was. A deputy responded.

On Thursday, Jessica N. Waligura, 27, of 114 Front St., Powhatan Point, was arrested and was booked into the Belmont County Jail on a theft charge. There was no bond set.

On Thursday, Danny Barnes, 18, of 64821 Nelan Road, Bellaire, was arrested for domestic violence.

At 2:58 p.m. Wednesday, a resident of Wegee Road in Shadyside reported a break-in and theft sometime overnight or early in the morning. The caller said a wallet was found open and with cards gone. A wedding ring and glasses were also missing.

At 9:56 a.m. Wednesday, units responded to an address on 48th Street in Bellaire for a domestic complaint.

At 1:04 a.m. Wednesday, a complaint was received about loud music and fireworks being set off at an address on Blaine-Cheermont Road.

On Wednesday, Jared T. Kimble, 24, of 302 N. Seventh St., Martins Ferry, was arrested on a probation violation.

At 8:05 p.m. Tuesday, officials received a complaint of cattle being in someone’s yard on Cash Ridge Road in Mead Township. A case is currently pending in court about this issue, officials noted.

On Monday, a resident of Main Street in Colerain Township reported an act of vandalism. Someone had pulled down a fence on the property.

At 11:59 a.m. Monday, Verizon called the sheriff’s office for a female who dropped her cellphone in a portable toilet at Jamboree In The Hills.

At 10:12 a.m. Monday, a person at a business reported extensive damage was done to one of their portable toilets at Jamboree In The Hills.

At 12:43 a.m. Monday, a resident on Main Street in Barton reported someone broke the back door to their house. They were reportedly unsure if the intruder or intruders were still in the house. St. Clairsville Police also responded.

On Monday, David P. Everly, 20, of 1541 Hukill St., Brilliant, was arrested for driving while suspended for DUI. No bond was set.

At 4:47 p.m. Friday, a Belco Works supervisor reported sexual activity on a bus. The caller did not request a deputy, but said state officials have been notified to investigate the incident.

At 3:43 a.m. Friday, person reported a wallet was stolen out of a cart at Wal-Mart.

On Friday, Brian K. Dayton, 31, of 607-1/2 Union St., Martins Ferry, was arrested for DUI, persistent disorderly conduct, marked lane, windshield and wiper violations and failure to appear. Bond was set a $1,815.

According to the report, Timothy G. Reynolds, 53, of 4878 CR 10 Adena, was westbound in the left lane. Brewer was westbound in the right lane and attempted to exit at the Banfield Road exit. He decided to continue westbound on I-470, lost control, slid into the left westbound lane and struck Reynolds’ 2004 Dodge Dakota in the right rear bumper. Reynolds then lost control, traveled off the left side through a grass field area and struck a guardrail. On Tuesday, troopers arrested Ferrell A. Brooks, 45, of 2955 E. 66th St., Cleveland, for contempt and failure to appear.

OHIO STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

A crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer at 1:44 p.m. Sunday closed the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 in the Barnesville area for approximately two hours. A spokespeson at the Ohio State Highway Patrol in St. Clairsville said a male driver sideswiped the tractor-trailer. The spokesperson said there were no injuries. At 4:15 a.m. Monday, Crystal L. Peters, 25, of 542 Montclair Ave., Bethlehem, Pa., was driving a 1995 Acura westbound on I-70 in Kirkwood Township. According to the report, she drove onto the exit ramp and attempted to cut through the grass and get back on I-70 westbound. The car struck a sign post and light post. At 2:25 p.m. Monday, a resident of Wabash Street in Bridgeport reported they had left the house for about 25 minutes to walk the dog and while they were gone, someone broke out a kitchen window, entered the home and stole several items.

At 8:27 a.m. Monday, a caller from Hines Construction on Wegee Road in Shadyside reported two chainsaws, an air compressor and a chop saw were stolen from a building sometime over the weekend. Locks were reportedly cut off to gain access to the building.

On Monday, a caller from Main Street in Centerville requested to see a deputy to report seven rabbits being stolen from her yard.

At 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, police went to an area of 21st Street in response to a report of a man being drunk and passed out in front of a residence. They arrested Michael Eugene Kuri of Neffs for public intoxication and obstructing. He was taken to the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville pending arraignment.

Missing Person

At 8:36 a.m. Monday, police investigated a missing person report in the 100 block of Lower Power Avenue.

At 1:07 a.m. Sunday, police initiated a defective equipment traffic stop in the 500 block of National Road. As a result, they arrested Jonathan Bennette Holt of Moundsville for DUI and defective equipment.

At 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police served an outstanding warrant on Marc McPherson, 25, of Wheeling, who turned himself in at headquarters.
