Man Facing Charges After Drug Arrest
Thaddeus Emrys Richardson is facing three drug charges after Wheeling police found him early Thursday in an alley with a large amount of heroin and a handgun.
Magistrate Joe Roxby set bond at $10,000 each on three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
A police report states that 1:07 a.m., an officer observed Richardson, 28, of McMechen, and a woman enter an alley between Main and Market streets.
As police moved closer, they saw Richardson and the woman in an area of the alley known to be a location for prostitution and drug activity.
They found Richardson in a dead-end alley off 15th Street Place with his back to police. He reportedly told them he was urinating.
According to the report, Richardson appeared to be nervous and pulled away and ran from officers before they caught up with him and took him into custody. The report states officers found 26 stamp bags of heroin and 10 empty bags in Richardson’s clothing.
They also found a pistol in the area where Richardson had been standing.
Richardson reportedly told police he also had crack cocaine, muscle relaxers and other drugs.
