Man Pleads Guilty To Bank Robbery
The man charged with robbing the Bridgeport Citizens Bank on May 27 entered guilty pleas Monday.
James Oberman Jr., 31, of Rayland, was charged with aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, because he allegedly held up the bank with a gun. He also was charged with possession of weapons under disability, because he was a felon and not allowed to have a gun.
Oberman entered guilty pleas to both charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced in October and could receive up to 17 years in prison. He had previously served a prison sentence for robbing a Jefferson County bank.
Oberman remains in the Belmont County Jail.
