Warwood Lions Festival Promises Good Food, Fun

Award-winning pork barbecue, wings, funnel cakes, pizza, hot sausage sandwiches, roasted corn, cotton candy, shaved ice, hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries will be among the food and beverages that will be available at the Warwood Lions Community Festival, set for 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Garden Park in Wheeling.

This year’s event will feature Euro Bungee and inflatables. Children’s games, bingo, live bands, crafts, clowns, face painting, hair spraying, fish pond, a dunk tank, hay ride, swimming at Garden Park pool, and much more can be found at the festival.

There is a drawing to win a cake at the cake stand.

A 50-50 raffle will be held daily and a gift certificate raffle will be held.

On Friday, The Garage Band will provide music from 5-7 p.m. and Trippin the Riff will play from 7-10 p.m. On Saturday, Smoke Daddy and the Crawfish will be featured. Bring a lawn chair to relax and enjoy the music.

“There is something for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to everyone in Warwoord and the entire Wheeling community coming to enjoy the festivities,” said Margaret Stenger, festival chairman.

All proceeds from the festival go to the community projects and needs.
