Moundsville Man Arrested on Meth Charges in Marshall County

Police responding to the scene of a purported vehicle accident last week discovered the driver was allegedly preparing to manufacture methamphetamine.

Around 9 p.m. June 21, State Police were responding to a reported accident on Dowler Road when nearby witnesses said the driver, James Snow Jr., 27, of Moundsville, was seen nearby carrying a backpack. Upon locating and identifying Snow, whom the officer said he was familiar with due to previous investigations, the officer asked if the backpack contained a meth lab. Snow allegedly replied that it was not, though it did contain the components.

After evacuating the area for the bystanders’ safety, the backpack was opened, and numerous items were removed which could be used in the production of methamphetamine, including medicine, drain cleaner, and other items.

While being placed under arrest, Snow allegedly said he “was just trying to make a little money.”

Snow is charged with possession with intent to manufacture and is being held on $5,000 bond at the Northern Regional Jail. His preliminary hearing is set for Friday.

In an unrelated matter, a Moundsville woman faces charges after an incident at her home resulted in her arrest, but didn’t slow her down. Patricia Williams, 50, is charged with domestic battery after a confrontation at her sister’s home Saturday night, when Williams allegedly shoved her sister out the door, inflicting an injury to her arm, and then was said to have begun throwing and banging on objects around the residence. Williams’ sister reported concern as she was watching her 3-year-old granddaughter at the time.

When taken into custody, Williams reportedly continued being disruptive in the back of the patrol car, prompting the officer to use pepper spray to prevent further damage to herself after allegedly banging her head off the windows.

Williams is held on $3,500 bond for domestic battery at the Northern Regional Jail.
