Allegations Against Martins Ferry Teachers Under Review in Belmont County

The Belmont County Prosecutor’s Office has received the forensic investigation report regarding alleged misconduct by a former Martins Ferry City Schools teacher and coach.

“The (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation) report has been received for the Martins Ferry case and it is under review,” said Prosecutor Dan Fry Monday.

The teacher allegedly sent nude photos of himself to a student. The teacher was placed on leave when school administrators learned of the allegations.

About 11 days ago, Fry said his office received BCI’s forensic report regarding an unrelated case of alleged misconduct by a former St. Clairsville-Richland City Schools teacher and coach.

“The St. Clairsville case is not completed yet,” Fry said, adding he could not yet discuss the case publicly.

The St. Clairsville-Richland City School District Board of Education earlier this month placed the accused teacher on administrative leave without pay because of the alleged misconduct about which school officials learned last spring. That teacher already had been on leave with pay since the alleged misconduct was first reported.
