‘Big City Style’ Moves to New Home in St. C.
Kelly’s Suite II Now on West Main Street
Home owners no longer have to travel to Columbus, Pittsburgh or even Waco, Texas, to find today’s most desirable home furnishings, as big-city style has made it’s way to St. Clairsville.
Kelly’s Suite II, an established St. Clairsville design studio, has moved into a grand new home at 235 W. Main St. — where each room is set up to inspire the shopper to envision what their home and lifestyle could be with the proper furniture, accessories and design guidance, according to principle designer, Kelly Cappelletti.
There’s a dream of a chef’s kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances, marble counter tops and white subway tile.
Lustrous lighting fixtures — a signature of Kelly’s Suite II — hang in each room, and there’s a feeling of comfort and welcome in both the downstairs living room and an upstairs bonus room.
A stately stairwell in the front entrance greets visitors — and tucked under it is an exquisite powder room with pops of cobalt blue.
A large regal bed draped in all white linens is the centerpiece of the master bedroom. But at its foot is a clawfoot bathtub, a fixture that is original to the home. The tub now serves to hold extra blankets and pillows.
Also present are the “shiplap” wood paneling one sees frequently on the Texas-based HGTV show “Fixer-Upper.” The boards adorn the ceiling in the entryway, as well as the fireplace in the dining room.
Not only can customers purchase one accessory, or one piece of furniture — they can buy the design of an entire room at Kelly’s Suite II, Customers also can rent and use the rooms at Kelly’s Suite II — including the functioning chef’s kitchen — for special occasions.
“Crown moldings, shiplap — don’t think it’s just for (“Fixer-Upper” hosts) Chip and Joanna Gaines,” said Cappelletti. “We’re friendly and open to everyone. We want everyone to come.
“Whether or not people want just one small item, or they are in the market for beautiful Amish kitchen … we need them to know they can walk in and buy the whole room — from chandelier to rugs. We do it all.”
After 17 years in business, Cappelletti and her husband, William, wanted to invest in and create a design show home to “make it easy for the client to see what can be in their own home.”
“And it’s such a beautiful, happy house. We want to share it with everyone,” she said. “We just need people to get in and see what we’re about.
“We have made it for everyone– both the young and more mature customer. We have more relaxed furnishing now because that’s how life is. We think life should be more relaxed. That is how we are going to bring it into people’s homes.”
Head designer Darek Wilson said he aims for originality in his work.
“I feel like our purpose for this house is trying to bring something different to the area that people can’t get anywhere else,” he said. “You don’t have to go to Columbus. We bring big-city style here.
“We’re bringing the most current style to the area when nobody else is. And we’re trying to have something for everyone, no matter what the age group or the price.”
Kelly’s Suite II is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, and evenings and weekends by appointment. The store can be reached at 740-695-2776.
