By DREW PARKER

A local museum will host paranormal activities and display spooky artifacts in Moundsville for a unique convention Saturday.

The Archive of the Afterlife Paranormal Museum, located at the Sanford Center in Moundsville, will host the first Grave City ParaCon from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, in conjunction with the Bellaire House “Portal to Hell” and web series “Paranormal Quest.”

According to Archive of the Afterlife Museum owner Steve Hummel, the event is open to the public for a $5 fee, with an 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nighttime paranormal investigation of the Sanford Center available for an additional cost. Vendors will include a variety of psychic and spiritual readings, photography, cosmetics and more. Active military and veterans will receive free admission with identification.

Speakers will begin at 1 p.m. and will include Rev. High Priestess Kristen Lee of the Bellaire House, Susan Sheppard of Haunted Parkersburg Tours, Society of the Supernatural paranormal investigators Dave Spinks, David Weatherly and Sean Ausin, paranormal investigator Nick White of A&E’s “Cursed: The Bell Witch and Paranormal Quest” researchers Dave Gear, Jason McKinney, Ryan Zacherl and Steve Hummel.

Between events, visitors may take tours of the Archive, viewing items including a former West Virginia penitentiary execution cap, a framed picture of a resident spirit named Annie, an authentic embalming table, John Dillinger’s death mask and more.

Hummel said the event is designed to help the general public understand paranormal experiences.

“We hope to provide people with answers to questions they may have about past experiences they may have and educate the public on the paranormal field,” Hummel said. “They can also learn from the testimonies of others.”
