SHERIFF’S OFFICE

At 8:01 p.m. Friday, a complainant from Hospital Road, Bellaire, reported a male subject with a red backpack walking down the road who came into her yard and was watching her kids. A deputy was dispatched, located the subject walking on High Ridge Road and advised him to stay out of people’s yards.

At 7:32 p.m. Friday, a complainant from Unity Church Road, St. Clairsville, came to the station to report someone stole his identity and opened credit cards in his name for Kohls, Wayfair, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales.

At 6:02 p.m. Friday, a male came to the station to report his iPhone stolen. The phone was pinging from an address in New Athens. Officers spoke with New Athens Police, who advised they retrieved the phone, but it was smashed. Officers returned it to the owner, according to the report.

At 4:42 p.m. Friday, a complainant from Commercial Drive, Bridgeport, came to the station to report money missing. A sergeant spoke with the complainant and took information for a theft report.

At 4:12 p.m. Friday, officers responded to an address on Sewellsville Road, Barnesville, for a report of an unruly juvenile.

At 3:36 p.m. Friday, a complainant from Willow Grove Road, St. Clairsville, reported a telephone scam in which a caller claimed they had won money from Publishers Clearing House, but would need money sent to them via Western Union for processing.

At 12:45 p.m. Friday, a complainant from Fox Run Hospital, Traco Drive, St. Clairsville, reported a staff member was found to be physically abusing a resident. The staff member was terminated immediately, according to the report. A sergeant was dispatched to the scene for an assault report.
