Confrontation Ends With Damaged Truck in Marshall County
Police responding a disturbance at a Glen Dale gas station early Thursday arrested a Marshall County couple who allegedly had gotten into an argument that turned violent.
Around 1 a.m. Thursday, Glen Dale police found Jenna Oliver, 26, holding a young child near a local business, allegedly extremely intoxicated.
Police said Oliver was unsteady on her feet and extremely emotional, and reported she had been dropped off by her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend, Ronald Warnick — against whom Oliver has a protective order — was located at the former Speedway in Glen Dale, according to a criminal complaint.
Warnick reportedly told police he was taking Oliver home when an argument broke out, and she began striking him in the face, becoming more agitated when he attempted to stop her, yelling obscenities and spitting at him.
As the argument escalated Oliver allegedly began kicking various portions of the vehicle, including the side windows and the windshield, which officers noted was destroyed from the inside, with shattered glass found throughout the vehicle.
Both Oliver and Warnick were medically cleared and arrested.
Oliver was charged with domestic battery and destruction of property and remains jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail. Warnick was charged with violation of a protective order.
In an unrelated incident, police also arrested Moundsville resident Robert Lucas, 54, after receiving a tip that he allegedly was manufacturing drugs. Officers set up a meeting, with Lucas, and during questioning he reportedly was found with marijuana.
Lucas was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
He also remains lodged at the NRJ in lieu of $5,000 bail.
