At 1:43 p.m., Interstate 70, Valley Grove, rest area. Worker at the rest area called to report a female was bathing two children in the bathroom. Deputies spoke to the woman who said she was displaced by Hurricane Irma and needed to clean her children. The woman said she had just been wired money and was able to get a place to stay for the night and provide food for her children. Deputies reported no signs of abuse or neglect. The woman refused to show ID, citing civil rights. Deputies checked her vehicle license and she was free to go.
