At 1 p.m., Ohio Valley Medical Center, Eoff Street, officers responded to a dispute between Child Protective Services and the mother of a newborn, which caused the nursing area to be locked down for a brief period of time. The child never left the floor and incident remains under investigation.

BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
At 1:06 p.m. Wednesday, a complainant from Trough Run Road, Bellaire, reported littering/illegal dumping, stating that someone dumped shingles on her property.
At 11:44 a.m. Wednesday, a caller from Family Market, Main Street, Belmont, reported receiving fraudulent checks.
At 1:07 a.m. Wednesday, a complainant from Oco Road, Lafferty, reported hearing about 10-15 rounds being shot and a couple of people yelling from across the street. Several units responded. One male subject, whose name was not listed in the report, was taken to jail. Officers took possession of two guns, according to the report.
