Michael D. Hoskins of 4386 Lincoln Ave., Shadyside, was cited Monday for a turn signal violation.

BELMONT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

At 12:14 a.m. Wednesday, a deputy responded to a report of domestic trouble at an address on Barton Road, Colerain Township. According to the report, a female motorist attempted to run over a male subject, hitting him. The report went on to note that the complainant had a suspended license and “nothing he stated on the phone happened.” He basically just wanted to get some belongings and leave. A deputy gave him a ride to a friend’s residence.

At 10:49 p.m. Tuesday, subjects on a traffic stop at Winding Hill Road and West 23rd Street, Bellaire, were detained. Multiple baggies of crack cocaine were found in the center console of the vehicle, according to the report. The vehicle was towed, and one male subject was taken to jail.

At 10:05 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to an address on Church Street, Bridgeport, for a complaint of a resident mowing grass. The deputy advised he did not make contact with the individual, who must have put the headlamp and lawn mower away for the night, according to the report.

At 9:19 p.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Fairpoint-Maynard Road, Wheeling Township, reported a male subject in a gold Mercury was following and harassing him.

At 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a truck parked on Ohio 7 between Shadyside exits has the rear end and tires on it that were reported stolen from a vehicle she owns, noting a report about items stolen from the vehicle was filed about a month ago. The vehicle was towed to the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office impound.

At 8 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Dollar General, National Road, St. Clairsville, reported being threatened by a customer. A male subject reportedly stated he was going to punch the complainant in the face because she would not sell him cigarettes. The subject left toward the car wash, according to the report.

At 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy responded to Wal-Mart, Valley Plaza Drive, St. Clairsville, for a male shoplifter in custody.

At 1:11 p.m. Tuesday, units responded to Willow Grove Road, Bellaire, in search of a location from where a 911 hang-up call was placed.

At 12:03 p.m. Tuesday, units responded to Boscov’s at the Ohio Valley Mall, St. Clairsville, for a report of a combative female shoplifter who had been detained.

At 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Cherrywood Drive, St. Clairsville, reported a suspicious vehicle continues to come up his driveway. A sergeant advised an extra patrol will be done.

At 3:15 p.m. Monday, units responded to Mt. Hope Road, Flushing, for a report of an assault at a group home.

At 8:38 a.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Lansing Limited, Commercial Drive, Bridgeport, for a report of what appeared to be marijuana plants on a tenant’s property. Two plants were confiscated. No one would come to the door, according to the officer, who left a business card and noted he would attempt to follow up later in the day.
