Ohio Valley Jaycees Seek New Members To Keep the Giving Going
The Ohio Valley Jaycees helped more than 160 children during its annual Christmas Kids Project. The project, which has been taking place since 1988, has benefited many different groups of area children over the years.
In 2017, the Jaycees partnered with the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources to meet the needs of children who are wards of the state, children in residential placements and children in foster care in Hancock, Brooke and Ohio counties.
Helping the Jaycees during the holiday season were the employees of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Other sponsors included the Junior League of Wheeling, Cabela’s, Tony’s Spa, Famous Supply, the 19th Hole, Kay’s Jewelers, Goldbaugh Chiropractic, employees of Bethany College, MedExpress, and First Choice Fire, as well as numerous individual donors.
The Ohio Valley Jaycees is a group of younger people creating positive change. Members range in age from 18 to 40 years old, as well as associate members over 40.
Anyone interested in attending a meeting and joining the organization is asked to attend the next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapter house, 51 Delwood Ave. in Elm Grove. Meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
