WHEELING POLICE DEPARTMENT

Between 8:48 a.m. and 11:13 p.m. Monday, officers handled 19 traffic stops, two vehicle accidents and one miscellaneous call.

MONDAY

At 11:12 p.m., 15th Street, disorderly adult.

At 11:11 p.m., Market Street, disorderly adult.

At 10:53 p.m., Eoff Street, suspicious person.

At 10:18 p.m., North 19th Street, suspicious person.

At 10:06 p.m., Eagle Court, destruction of property.

At 8:19 p.m., National Road, leaving the scene.

At 8:11 p.m., Maple Avenue, welfare check.

At 7:57 p.m., 15th Street, disorderly adult.

At 7:51 p.m., Main Street, possession with intent. Officers initiated a traffic stop for speeding. As a result, Johnny Carlos Grayson, 37, of Wheeling, was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver cocaine.

At 7:18 p.m., National Road, suspicious person.

At 4:41 p.m., Edgwood Street, destroy animal.

At 3:57 p.m., Oakland Avenue, malicious assault.

At 3:24 p.m., Sycamore Avenue, destruction of property.

At 3:15 p.m., Wood Street, welfare check.

At 2:12 p.m., Eoff Street, welfare check.

At 1:41 p.m., Washington Avenue, found item. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Washington Avenue regarding a found scooter.

At 12:25 p.m., Market Street, brandishing.

At 12:12 p.m., Gaewood Avenue, welfare check. Officers received a phone call from police headquarters regarding a welfare check on Gaewood Avenue per the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.

At 12:12 p.m., Edgwood Street, animal issue.

At 11:51 a.m., Interstate 70, motorist assist.

At 11:22 a.m., 15th Street, disorderly juveniles.

At 10:31 a.m., Jacob Street, vandalism to auto.

At 10:00 a.m., Eoff Street, transport.

At 9:45 a.m., Main Street, warrant service.

At 9:39 a.m., Lee Drive, destruction of property.

At 9:01 a.m., River View Avenue, theft.

BELMONT COUNTY

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

At 2:18 p.m. Monday, an employee of Rural King, Mall Ring Road, St. Clairsville, reported male and female shoplifters who had already left the store. A deputy responded to take information.

At 6:28 p.m. Sunday, a complainant reported a GPS tracker missing from an address on Moores Run Road, Bridgeport.

At 5:07 p.m. Sunday, a complainant from Mehlman Road, Bellaire, reported being out walking a dog and finding a used syringe. A deputy responded, collected the needle and disposed of it in a Sharpes container.

At 5:03 p.m. Sunday, units responded to the Ohio Valley Mall, St. Clairsville, where a complainant reported two female subjects took her wallet and used her credit cards. The complainant reportedly tracked the females from Men’s Warehouse to the Finish Line, where she confronted them and got her wallet back, but the credit cards were still missing. They reportedly ran through Macy’s before leaving out the side door. A sergeant obtained the amount of the transaction that took place at the Finish Line — $219.85, according to the report. The suspects were described as two black females, and security video footage was being reviewed.

At 1:23 p.m. Sunday, units responded to Valley Plaza Drive, St. Clairsville, for a report of a drunk white male subject who left Wal-Mart in a vehicle heading toward Burger King. The Ohio State Highway Patrol also responded. Units stopped the vehicle at Huntington Bank. The subject refused to take a sobriety test, was arrested and was taken to jail, according to the report.

At 12:33 p.m. Sunday, deputies responded to an address on Majors Road Extension, Martins Ferry, for a report of a domestic complaint. One female was taken into custody and transported to the Sargus Juvenile Detention Center.
