SHERIFF’S OFFICE

At 4:56 p.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Provident Road, St. Clairsville, advised of a dispute with a neighbor over burning brush. The complainant was advised of burning laws.

At 3:48 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported finding a used needle near the loop in Rock Hill Cemetery.

At 3:27 p.m. Tuesday, a deputy met with representatives of Belmont County Children Services at an address on Deerfield Drive, St. Clairsville.

At 1:29 p.m. Tuesday, a caller from Pike Street, Maynard, reported her 2-year-old locked herself in her vehicle. A deputy was en route to assist when central dispatch advised the caller broke out the window to get the child and was no longer needed.

At 1:18 p.m. Tuesday, units responded to the Ohio Valley Mall, St. Clairsville, for a report of a male shoplifter in custody.

At 11:21 a.m. Tuesday, a caller from Mall Road, St. Clairsville, reported a theft, stating a former employee had been stealing money, according to the report.

At 10:04 a.m. Tuesday, a complainant from Cope Street, Martins Ferry, reported a Chevy Trailblazer stolen.

At 2:32 a.m. Tuesday, units responded to a fuel station on Belmont-Morristown Road, Morristown, for a report of a male pulling a knife on another male over who got to the pump first. On the scene, the men had been separated and gave officers two different stories, according to the report, which stated no charges would be filed.

At 2 a.m. Tuesday, several deputies were out on a traffic stop on Ohio 7 northbound near the Interstate 470 interchange north of Bellaire. One female subject was detained, and a syringe was found in the vehicle’s center console, according to the report. One female and one male were taken into custody, the report indicated.

At 2:37 p.m. Monday, a deputy responded to Patterson Hill Road, Neffs, for a report of a teenage girl who was allegedly assaulted.
