Main Street Bank Marks Anniversary With Cookout in Wheeling
Main Street Bank celebrated its 17th anniversary with an All American cookout at its downtown location today.
Customers, shareholders and employees enjoyed “cookout” food and atmosphere as the bank recognized its opening date of June 20, 2001.
Main Street Bank chose June 20, West Virginia Day, as its opening date 17 years ago. The bank also formed its parent holding company, Main Street Financial Services Corp., on West Virginia Day in 2003.
“We decided to have West Virginia Day as our opening date so that we could honor and celebrate our anniversary along with our great state,” said Rich Lucas, president and CEO of Main Street Bank. “I always give our Chief Operating Officer Becky Randolph credit for picking this date to open. As we were preparing to get started over a decade and a half ago, and be the first newly formed bank in Ohio County in 36 years, Becky stopped me in our hallway and suggested we open on West Virginia Day so that as the years pass we could easily remember our anniversary.”
A dividend of 32 cents per share was announced this year, an increase of 7 percent from the prior year and the sixth consecutive year of increases in the dividend. The dividend is payable to shareholders of record as of April 12 and was paid June 20, the 17th anniversary of the inception of the bank.
