Search Continues For Belmont County Woman and Her Caregiver

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Department continues to search for two missing people in a case that has officials stymied.

Brian Goff and Joni Davis were last seen around 7 p.m. June 10 as they were leaving the Pizza Hut restaurant in the Wetzel Springs Plaza along National Road just east of St. Clairsville. The Martins Ferry residents were driving a light blue 1990 Oldsmobile Delta 88 four door car with Ohio license plate number EYA 7482 when they disappeared.

Goff, 64, is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. The man has brown hair and brown eyes.

Davis, 55, is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 138 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, according to information provided by the sheriff’s office.

Chief Deputy James Zusack said Goff is Davis’ caregiver, as she previously suffered a traumatic brain injury, and that they have a strict routine that they follow. They have not been seen at any of their typical destinations since they left Pizza Hut on June 10, he said.

“It’s just weird,” Zusack said. “I can’t remember a case like this, where boom — they’re just gone.”

Zusack said the department’s detective division is investigating and working with family members to gather more information about the pair.

On Monday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol provided a search plane that landed at Alderman Airport in East Richland and picked up a sheriff’s deputy to search for the 1990 Oldsmobile from the sky.

Anyone with information about the missing pair is urged to call the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department at 740-695-7933.
