Juvenile Suspects in Toronto Murder in Court in Steubenville
Charges were amended Monday against two juveniles arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Toronto on Aug. 18.
Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Corbi held a hearing Monday to explain the charges to suspects Ka’Saun Carlock, 15, of Steubenville and Jacob A. Gill, 16, of Toronto.
Carlock now is charged with murder and aggravated robbery, each with a firearm specification, and tampering with evidence. Gill is charged with complicity to murder and aggravated robbery, each with a firearm specification, and tampering with evidence.
Dylan Moore, 18, of Toronto, was riding in a vehicle stopped in the 500 block of North Seventh Street on Aug. 18 when he was shot. Monroe was pronounced dead two days later in a Pittsburgh hospital.
County Assistant Prosecutor Samuel Pate has filed a motion for a discretionary bind-over to have the cases transferred to the adult division of common pleas court.
Logan J. Cain, 20, of Toronto also has been charged in the case. He faces charges of murder and aggravated robbery, each with a firearm specification, and tampering with evidence. Those charges were filed in Toronto county court.
Attorneys Eric Reszke and Steven Stickles were appointed to represent Gill. Attorneys Aaron Miller and Bernard Battistel were appointed to represent Carlock.
Corabi scheduled a probable cause hearing for Gill at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 6, followed by the probable cause hearing for Carlock.
