Wheeling, Ohio County Resource Officers Recognized

The law enforcement officers assigned to protecting Ohio County students have been recognized for their efforts.

Four representatives of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and a Wheeling Police Department sergeant earned awards at the prevention resource officer conference held July 23-27 at The Highlands Event Center.

During the event, Ohio County Sheriff Tom Howard was recognized for his years of service to the prevention resource officer program. He was also recognized for continuing to serve as a regional liaison.

Wheeling Park High School’s Sgt. Chuck Kittle and Deputy Chad Clatterbuck each earned the “Outstanding Community Service Award,” while Ohio County elementary school’s Cpl. John Haglock earned the “Distinguished Service Award.” Wheeling Police Department Sgt. Gust Kepreos, who is at Triadelphia Middle School, earned the “West Virginia Division of Justice and Community Services Above and Beyond Award.”
