Wheeling Pauses to Reflect, 17 Years After 9/11 Attacks

On Tuesday, people throughout the Ohio Valley honored the 17th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with commemorative events, from flag raisings to patriotic assemblies in schools. Here, members of the Wheeling Fire and Police Honor Guard gather outside Temple Shalom in Woodsdale prior to the start of the Communitywide Sept. 11 Service of Remembrance. Pictured, from left, are Sgt. Russ Campbell and Sgt. Joshua Raddish of the Wheeling Police Department, and Engineer Chuck Ranson and Lt. Steven Moore of the Wheeling Fire Department. The event was sponsored by the city of Wheeling.
