Remains Found in Raleigh County ID’d As Missing Wheeling Woman

The West Virginia Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified remains found in Raleigh County, West Virginia, as those of Lauren “Lulu” Cree-Jenkins.

Jenkins, 28, and her boyfriend, Trevor Vossen, 27, went missing Aug. 3 from the Ohio Valley. Jenkins was five months pregnant when she went missing.

A logging crew discovered bones Aug. 15 along Sullivan Road in Coal City, West Virginia. Authorities confirmed the bodies had been dismembered and badly burned. Vossen’s remains were positively identified Aug. 28.

Published reports stated that police believe the couple may have been killed in the Wheeling area. Wheeling police are involved in the investigation along with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office had searched for them after they went missing because they believed they had friends in the area.

Authorities in Wheeling were not available for comment.
