Students at Wheeling Park High School Picked for Honor Choir

Wheeling Park High School will be well represented in the 2019 West Virginia American Choral Directors Association High School Honor Choir.

Patriot students Jonah Henthorne, D.J. Daugherty, Robert Irvin, Amilea Harder, Emma Ihlenfeld, Faith Richter, Emily Loh, Anna Allman and Maddie L’Ecuyer were all selected for the choir following their recent auditions at West Virginia Wesleyan University. As part of the 80-member ACDA Honor Choir, they will perform at annual ACDA Conference to be held Jan. 26-29 in Charleston.

In addition to acceptance in the ACDA Honor Choir, Ihlenfeld, Loh, Richter, Harder, Henthorne and Irvin all earned a place in the West Virginia ACDA Chamber Choir. The chamber choir features the top 32 voices in West Virginia. Each of them earned the distinction by scoring within the top three students auditioning for their “voicing.”

Wheeling Park High School Choral teacher Joyce Jingle said she was confident in the abilities of her students prior to their ACDA auditions. She said they performed as well as she had hoped, and she is thrilled with their achievements.

“I am beyond proud of the work that these students have done,” Jingle said.
