Belmont County Police Reports


At 10:24 p.m. Monday, a deputy was out at Noble and 38th streets in Bellaire assisting Bellaire Police on a traffic stop. One male was detained. Bill’s Towing & Recovery was notified.

At 9:58 p.m. Monday, units responded to an address on East Captina Highway, Powhatan Point, for a domestic complaint. Jason E. Moses, 38, was taken to jail and booked on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. He was being held without bail pending an initial court appearance. Three firearms were listed in the report, indicating officers confiscated them from the home.

At 9:12 p.m. Monday, units responded to Carter Road, Somerset Township, for recovery of a 16-ton trailer entered as stolen from Monroe County.

At 2:28 p.m. Monday, a deputy was out at Red Roof Lane, St. Clairsville, assisting units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a call.

At 11:09 p.m. Saturday, a deputy responded to Creek Drive, Bridgeport, for a report of an assault.

At 9:28 p.m. Saturday, a deputy patrolled the area of Barlow Road, Richland Township, after a caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood.

At 2:08 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a be on the lookout report regarding domestic trouble between a couple at a bar on National Road, St. Clairsville. A male reportedly dragged a female out of the bar and elbowed her on the way out, according to the report, which stated there were related domestic complaints in the past. Units searched the area of Grays Ridge Road, Ohio 9 in Fairpoint, Barton-Crescent Road and Bett-Mar Lane in St. Clairsville before the be on the lookout report was canceled.
