Tree Lighting in Moundsville Honors Late Fire Chief Noel Clarke

Photos by Scott McCloskey

Nearly 200 people turned out Thursday evening as Gold, Khourey & Turak hosted its 16th-annual community Christmas tree lighting at its law offices at 510 Tomlinson Ave., Moundsville. Santa arrived by fire truck. This year’s 21-foot tree, called “The Chief’s Tree,” was dedicated in the memory of the late Noel Clarke, who served as Moundsville’s fire chief from 2002-17. A plaque in front of the tree reads, “Since 2003, Noel delivered Santa by firetruck to GKT’s annual Christmas tree lighting, because in his words, ‘It’s for the kids.'” The tree was donated by Wierzbicki Christmas Tree Farm in Flushing.
