Shelby Haines, left, was sworn in as Marshall County Schools superintendent Tuesday evening.

Shelby Haines was sworn in as Marshall County Schools superintendent Tuesday evening. Haines was selected by the board last month to take the spot held by interim superintendent Stanley Stewart, who took over after the resignation of Jeffrey Crook earlier in the year. Haines, a 22-year employee with Marshall County Schools, most recently served as the Director of Special Programs. “I appreciate the work Mr. Stewart has done as interim superintendent,” Haines said. “He began numerous initiatives including the review of policies and procedures. He has been a great role model and mentor.” Haines officially begins her position July 1.
