Ohio County Jury: Acoff Guilty of Second-Degree Murder
WHEELING – An Ohio County jury today found Dallas “Dal” Acoff guilty of second-degree murder, malicious assault and three counts of wanton endangerment.
The jury reached its verdict after deliberating for about four hours. The trial began Monday.
According to the criminal complaint against Acoff, police responded to a 1:20 a.m. Oct. 9 call to an area near 1419 Jacob St. regarding multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, they found Coleman lying face down in an alley between Lane E and 15th Street with a gunshot wound to his lower left abdomen. Coleman was taken to Ohio Valley Medical Center, were he was pronounced dead.
Another man, Norman Banks, was wounded in the shootout.
