McMECHEN – Marshall County Commissioner Jason “Jake” Padlow Jr. is denying charges he assaulted a man outside a McMechen business in the early morning hours Wednesday.
Padlow, 39, of McMechen, was arraigned early today in Marshall County Magistrate Court before Magistrate Mark Kerwood. Padlow is charged with one count of misdemeanor battery.
The charge stems from an incident that allegedly occurred early Wednesday in a parking lot at 1300 E. Baltimore St. in McMechen.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim, Zachary Coffield, told the West Virginia State Police in a recorded interview, he and Padlow had a verbal argument outside of Goodfellas Bar in McMechen late Tuesday evening.
Coffield told police about 15 minutes after the argument Padlow and another man located him at a nearby apartment and assaulted him in the parking lot.
Coffield was treated at Wheeling Hospital for his injuries.
Padlow said this morning he denies all allegations.
Padlow has been released on $5,000 bond.
