Fox Analyst Williams To Address Chamber
WHEELING – Juan Williams, analyst for Fox News and former correspondent for National Public Radio, will be the keynote speaker at the May 18 Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner.
The event begins May 18 with a 6 p.m. reception at Wheeling Park’s White Palace, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Chamber President Terry Sterling said Williams will bring a different view of national politics to the area.
“I think that he has an interesting angle on national politics and I’m excited to hear what he has to say,” Sterling said.
Sterling said Williams will share stories and opinions he has gathered while working with Fox News and NPR. Topics will include his conversations with President Barack Obama, members of Congress and the Supreme Court.
Williams will speak at 7:45 p.m. and will take questions following his speech. Williams will join the list of previous speakers such as Fox News’ Fred Barnes, Dick Morris and Judge Andrew Napolitano; Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Lynn Swann; and former Indiana University head basketball coach Bobby Knight.
“It is very important to continue the tradition of bringing in prominent speakers,” Sterling said.
Sterling also said the Kathy Fortunato Community Service Award will be presented to a local leader by the chamber’s board of directors. The award is handed out in honor of former chamber member Fortunato, who died about five years ago.
The dinner is open to all chamber members. Members of the general public may call the chamber office at 304-233-2575 to make possible arrangements to attend.
