Man Charged in Armed Robberies
WHEELING – Police believe 29-year-old Michael H. Kandis is responsible for three armed robberies at businesses in the Woodsdale and Elm Grove areas of Wheeling last month, city Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger said.
Police today obtained three warrants charging second-degree robbery against Kandis, who already was behind bars at the Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville on unrelated charges.
Kandis is accused of robbing Little Caesar’s on National Road Nov. 5, the Elm Grove Carry Out on Nov. 16 and the Gumby’s in Elm Grove on Nov. 25.
