Pipeline Ruptures in Marshall County, Evacuates Homes
CAMERON — A 24-inch natural gas pipeline operated by Williams Partners ruptured this afternoon, evacuating homes along Reed Ridge, said Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Thomas Hart.
Reed Ridge is located about three miles south of Cameron.
Hart said the safety measures in place stopped the gas line rupture from being worse. He anticipated residents of Reed Ridge would be able to return to their homes later this afternoon. No injuries were immediately reported.
Marshall County Sheriff Kevin Cecil said about 25 emergency calls came into the county’s dispatch center shortly after noon today.
