New President/General Manager Named at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack

WHEELING – Delaware North Companies Gaming & Entertainment, a leading owner and operator of regional casino destinations across the country, has named Osi Imomoh president and general manager of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack.

Imomoh will oversee all operations at Wheeling Island which is a full casino that features table games, a poker room, 1,600 slots, live and simulcast racing, various restaurants and a 151-room hotel.

Imomoh joined Delaware North in June 2007 as the food and beverage director at Southland Park Gaming & Racing in West Memphis, Ark. During his time in this role, he was recognized as a high-performing director and completed the Pinnacle III Leadership Series.

In 2010, he was promoted to senior director of operations, focusing on all gaming, racing, food and beverage, facilities, housekeeping and security operations. Imomoh has been instrumental in the turnaround of Southland Park into the leading gaming entertainment venue in the market.

He also played a major role in the planning and execution of Delaware North’s launch of operations at Jumer’s Casino & Hotel in Rock Island, Ill. Delaware North acquired Jumer’s in 2011.

At Wheeling Island, Imomoh replaces James W. Simms, who in February was named president and general manager of Miami Valley Gaming, Delaware North’s joint venture with Churchill Downs Incorporated to develop and operate a new gaming and racing venue between Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.

Prior to joining Delaware North, Imomoh worked with the Isle of Capri Casino chain at locations in Louisiana and Mississippi in various roles such as restaurant manager, chef and director of hospitality services.

Imomoh earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees in hospitality management from the University of Houston.
