Armed Robbery Suspect at Large

WHEELING – Police Chief Shawn Schwertfeger said the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred outside of Godfather’s Gentlemen’s Club, 601 S. Penn St., on Wheeling Island at 2:50 a.m. Saturday was still at large at press time.

The suspect approached four men outside of the club in the 500 block of South Penn Street, stuck a black handgun into the side of one man and demanded money.

The victim gave the man some cash and the suspect fled on foot, running north on South Penn Street. He described him as a white, heavy-set man, about 6 feet tall with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a red toboggan-style hat, a red shirt and red and green or camouflage shorts.
