Snow Blast Leads To School Bus Wrecks

WHEELING – A fast-moving bout of snow created slippery roads this morning, sending many drivers into ditches and off the roadways.

Three separate accidents involving Ohio County Schools buses were reported. Two of the buses were transporting students, while the third bus involved in an accident was not transporting students.

The first accident occurred on GC&P Road and Deans Hill, while the second occurred on Dement Road. There were no reported injuries.

No students were traveling on the bus involved in the accident that occurred on Cherry Hill Road. All students were transported to their schools.

Ohio County Schools held classes today while many East Ohio school districts canceled classes.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department answered numerous accidents in the county, shutting down roads for a time while accident scenes were cleared.
