Foundation Scholar Finalists Are Named
WHEELING – Three local students are among 20 in the running for five West Virginia University Foundation Scholarships.
The award, which provides full tuition to WVU for four years and is valued at approximately $80,000 when paired with the state’s PROMISE Scholarship, recognizes student’s leadership and academic potential. WVU President E. Gordon Gee will announce the scholars during a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. today in Morgantown.
The three local students, all of whom have been offered Neil S. Bucklew Scholarships to attend WVU, are Cassidy Bland, Brooke High School; Tanner Filben, John Marshall High School; and Karen Laska, Wheeling Park High School.
