Victim In Fatal Fire Identified

LIMESTONE – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has identified Jack Snyder as the victim of a fatal Sunday afternoon house fire along U.S. 250 in Limestone.

The fire marshal’s office said the fire damaged the home of Jack and Trudy Snyder at 7113 Waynesburg Pike, near Blairs Ridge Road between Limestone and Pleasant Valley. According to the state fire marshal’s office, the body was sent to the Morgantown Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The fire reportedly started at 1:21 p.m. near a bed in a rear bedroom of the house, but the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

According to the Moundsville Volunteer Fire Department, no other people were in the house at the time.

Limestone and Cameron Volunteer Fire Departments, the Marshall County Medical Examiner, the West Virginia State Fire Marshal and the Salvation Army Canteen from Belmont County all responded to the scene.
