Motorcycle Crash Kills Bellaire Man

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – A 55-year-old Bellaire man died in a motorcycle crash at about 10:42 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 70 near milepost 214.

The victim, Jimmy DiFabrizio, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Belmont County Coroner’s Office.

According to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the post received a call and responded to the scene. The investigation revealed that a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by DiFabrizio was westbound when he went off the right side of the interstate and struck the guardrail.

DiFabrizio was ejected from the motorcycle. The driverless motorcycle then re-entered the road and was struck by a 2000 Peterbuilt semi truck driven by Ronald Glover, 30, of Gordon, Ky. The semi then went off the left side of the road and overtuned. Glover sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Cumberland Trail Emergency Squad.

According to the release, DiFabrizio was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and alcohol is suspected as a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
