House Approves 5 Percent Pay Raise

WHEELING — The House of Delegates passed a 5 percent pay increase for all West Virginia public school teachers, school service personnel and State Police. This would go into effect July 1.

The measure passed with a vote of 98-1, with Delegate Saira Blair, R-Berkeley, being the only one to vote “no.”

The measure next moves on to the Senate.

Both the Senate and House have adjourned until tomorrow.
