Richard G. Kinnear

KINNEAR, Richard G., 67, of Stewart, Ohio, died September 27, 2007, at his residence.

He was born in Wheeling, W.Va., on September 7, 1940, the son of the late Jayne Powell Kinnear and his stepfather, William Kinnear.

Richard was a member of the Stewart United Methodist Church; worked for the North American Coal Co., and retired from Meigs Mine No. 31. He was a member and past President of the UMWA Local No. 1857, where he had also been recording secretary. He had also been a volunteer firefighter for Rome Township in Athens County, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Yeater.

Survivors include his wife, Ledra L. Tanner; his stepdaughter, Karin Stimpert and her husband, Rodney, of Little Hocking, Ohio; his two daughters, Kimberley Freiderich of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Kristy Yancey of Lancaster, Ohio; his stepdaughter from his first marriage, Karen Sullivan and her husband, Eric, of Lancaster, Ohio; his special grandchildren caregivers, Jenna and Tessa Duckworth; his grandson, Kaelan Yeater; grandchildren, Krystal Miller, Brittani Kinnear, Malicia Kinghorn, and Larry Miller; his step grandchildren, Heather, Jamie, Nathaniel, Erica, Tiana; and three step great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Patricia Kinnear of Wheeling, and Rebecca Deal and her husband, Gylvan, of Summersville, S.C.; and his special niece and nephew, Tracy Deal and Glen Deal and his wife Kim; his aunt, Rene Powell; and several cousins also survive him.

Services will be on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with the Reverend James Lambert officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-9 p.m.

Burial will be in the Evergreen South Cemetery.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by Athens American Legion and VFW.
