Louis T. Moore

MOORE, Louis Thomas, 65, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, January 11, 2008, in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling.

Lou was born November 14, 1942, eldest child of the late Thomas Craig Moore and Jane Kozlowski Moore.

After graduating from Wheeling Central in 1960, he joined the U.S. Navy and attended American University.

Lou is a retired Detective Sergeant for the Metropolitan Police in Washington, D.C., and also a retired Investigator for the W.Va. D.O.C. He also worked for the Supreme Court, Department of Defense, and most recently, the Wheeling Park Commission.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Sandra Lee Duvall Moore.

Lou is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Simms Moore; daughters, Debbie Baragas and Victoria Bechtold, both of Md., Audra Duvall Moore of Raleigh, N.C., and Pamela Duvall Moore of Philadelphia, Pa.; his brother, Terry (Marsha) Moore of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; six grandchildren; two great-grand children; and an uncle, Raymond Kozlowski.

Lou was an avid golfer, baseball player and bird watcher.

Friends will be received on Monday, January 14, 2008, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike, Wheeling, where services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, with Father Rick Shoda officiating.

Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg, WV.
