Bernice F. Coe
COE, Bernice Francis Lanius, 87, of Wellsburg, W.Va., died Friday, February 22, 2008.
She was born September 19, 1920 in Brigham City, Utah, daughter of the late Alfred Lanius and Lilly Francis Lanius.
She was a homemaker who especially enjoyed discussing politics, geneology, reading, sewing, camping and vacationing with her family at Nags Head, N.C., Ocean City, Md., and Galveston, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Vergil Glen Coe on April 19, 2006, whom she married on July 18, 1939 in Ogden, Utah. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lem Lanins, Alfed Lanius, and Ewen Lanius; two grandchildren, Debra Faneros and Cathy Coe; and, two great-grandsons, Randall Pittman and Tyler King.
Surviving are two sons, Vergil Glen Coe, Jr. (Barbara) of Beallsville, Ohio, Steven Coe of Wellsburg; four daughters, Diana Stackpole (Gary Punches) of Denton, Texas, Judy Shanholtz (Richard) of Shinnston, Linda Oliver (Mike) of New Martinsville, and, Peggy Finley (Craig) of Wellsburg; and eight grand children, Jimmy Stackpole, Karen Pittman, Kelly Coe, Richard Shanholtz, III, Jennifer Stankovich, Lisa McCloy, Teresa Simmons, Samantha Coe; and four great- grandchildren, Alyssa Shanholtz, Sophia Stankovich, Emily Prieto, Matthew Prieto and Amanda Stackpole; and two sisters, Rozella Smith and Lilly Caudill.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wellsburg Public Library.
