William V. McMahon

McMAHON, William Venten, 83, of Shadyside, Ohio, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, in Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire.

He was born August 25, 1924 in Bellaire, a son of the late James and Edith McCracken McMahon.

William was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Benwood Plant; was a member of SOAR; Eagles and American Legion, both of Bellaire; and was an Army veteran of WWII.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Jim McMahon; and a sister, Loretta Small.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Garnet King McMahon; four children, Daniel McMahon and his wife, Tilly, of Jacobsburg, Paulette Bishop and her husband, Dave, of St. Clairsville, Patrick McMahon and hit wife, Nancy, of Jackson, Ohio and Garnet McMahon of the home; a sister, Bernadine Morrison of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; a brother, Joseph McMahon of New York, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bellaire High School Alumni Association.
