NICKERSON, Lorie Ann Hethcox, 42 of McMechen, W.Va., died on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009 at Liza’s Place, Valley Hospice Wheeling, after a brief but courageous battle with brain cancer.
She was born February 23, 1967 in Orlando, Florida, the daughter of Nancy Hethcox and the late Lawrence Cliffton Hethcox Jr.
She was an employee for Sledd’s Warehouse Co. in the inventory. She was a Catholic by faith.
Lorie attended WVNCC; she was a member of the Elm Grove Eagles.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer Homan.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Justin Hethcox, and his fiancee, Nichole Butler, both of Ohio; four sisters, Rose Mullavey Potts and her husband, Kip, of Ohio, and Mary Cherry Nichols and her husband, Bryan, of Ohio; Charles “Chuck” Cherry Jr., Richard Cherry and his wife, Terri of Vermont, and Lawrence “Jake” Hethcox and his fiancee, Lisa Gildea of Ohio; two nieces, Andrea Potts Showalter and her husband, Dan of Ohio, and Cassie Ringer of Ohio; a nephew, Casey Ringer of West Virginia; and numerous other nieces and nephews; an aunt, Louise Mullavey Rushak of Maryland; an uncle, Fred Mullavey and his wife, Nell of Arizona; a special friend, Cliff Burge of West Virginia, a lifelong friend Dawn Moore Smith and her husband, Neil of Maryland; and many other relatives and family. Lorie was supported by the GRMC and SMC.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, private visitation and service was held for close family and friends.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
