Albert R. Martin
MARTIN, Albert R. “Pepper” Jr., 84, of Elm Grove, W.Va., died Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born June 4, 1925, in Wheeling, a son of the late Albert Martin and Marie Baker Martin Crawford.
Mr. Martin was a grounds supervisor at West Liberty University, having worked there for 22 years. He was a Christian and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the Elm Grove Eagles, and an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence “Tom” Martin; three sisters, Hazel Sligar, Dorothy Miller and Pat Minger.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Okulanis Martin; a daughter, Judy Vogler and her husband Larry; a son, Robert “Bob” Martin and his wife Pam; five grandchildren, Jill and her husband Curtis, Jason, Jody, Megan and Jenna; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ella Radney; and his family at Wakims.
Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009.
Interment in Stone Church Cemetery, Wheeling.
